About
NoahWay
So here’s the scoop on my blog, NoahWay! —it’s where I’ll be dropping all the bomb diggity AI, 3D print, and Extended reality lesson ideas for teachers. No biggie if you’re not into all my geek outs. But hey, I’m crossing my lightsabers you’ll catch the excitement bug for at least one brainy blast I share. Ready, set, let’s geek this!
Now that you know what this site is all about from an AI description, how about I put it in my own words?
This site is a place for educators, educational support staff, or anyone who has a general interest in teaching and learning in relation to Artificial Intelligence, 3D printing, and Extended Reality. We could have intellectual and artistic debates for hours, days, and even years about whether or not these technologies have a place in the classroom. In my experience, they absolutely can, but I am a big believer that you should never implement technology into a lesson just for the sake of technology. It should have pedagogical value, and provide an engaging way for all students to learn.
I’m an educator, and whether finding ways to incorporate these technologies into engaging student learning or looking for ways to prevent students from using AI to find answers, the technology is here and will be a prominent part of the workforce moving forward. The posts on this site are about sharing ideas, lesson plans, AI prompt ideas, and more in ways that will help educators engage their students in learning. These posts are free and will remain so. They will provide you with content you can use, steal, tweak, and share freely. The idea is to create a resource we can turn to in order to find ideas for using this technology in the classroom.
The Author
Some people tell me I am a geek, dorky and weird.
I am.
If you were to walk up to me on the street and ask me if Butterbeer is better warm or cold, I have an answer. I will debate you about it, point to quotes in the text, and love every second of it.
The day I caught every Generation I Pokemon in Pokemon Go, I was so ecstatic, I called my best friend to celebrate and posted on every social media format I had available.
One of my favorite quotes about being a nerd comes from author John Green. He says, “…nerds like us are allowed to be unironically enthusiastic about stuff… Nerds are allowed to love stuff, like jump-up-and-down-in-the-chair-can’t-control-yourself love it.”
There are a lot of topics that I jump-up-and-down-in-the-chair-can’t-control-myself love. Topping this list are The Dark Tower series (Stephen King), watching and playing hockey, technical theater, good characterization, creating digital content, designing websites, 3D printing, XR, education, and telling a good story.
The purpose of NoahWay! is to share educational ideas related to AI, 3D printing, and XR in the hopes others will be inspired to find ways to use these technologies to further engage students in their classrooms in an impactful way.
So, let the geek out begin!
